Titleist, the #1 ball in golf, is once again the choice of the majority of the field at the third Major championship of the year, as more players put their trust in the precision and control of the legendary Pro V1 family than any other ball. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x have been put into play by 99 players at Royal St. George’s, more than four times the nearest competitor and more than all other brands combined.
The impressive count for the Pro V1 franchise marks the 32nd consecutive year that Titleist golf balls have been the #1 choice at the Open Championship. 63.5% of the field have teed up with Titleist this week, putting their trust in the feel and control of the Pro V1 or Pro V1x to tackle the Royal St. George’s links.
As well as being the choice of the majority of the field, a number of recent champions including defending champion Louis Oosthuizen (Pro V1x), and 2007 and 2008 champion Padraig Harrington (Pro V1x), have also put their trust in Titleist. Titleist Brand Ambassadors Rory McIlroy and Steve Stricker, both of whom have been widely tipped to perform well in light of recent tournament successes, continue their trust in Titleist this week as they both tee up the Pro V1x for their Open Championship campaign. In addition, both of the worlds top two players, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, also put their trust in the Pro V1x this week.
Another Major championship where the majority of the field put their trust in the feel and control of the legendary Pro V1 franchise, in addition to a 2011 worldwide win count more than seven times that of the nearest competitor, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
