TITLEIST DELIVERS 1-2 AT FEDEX ST. JUDE CLASSIC

It was an all-Titleist affair at TPC Southwind on Sunday, as Titleist Brand Ambassadors Harrison Frazar and Robert Karlsson duelled for the FedEx St. Jude Classic crown. Both players were at least three shots clear of the field throughout the final round, before tying on 13-under par at the 72nd hole and extending the tournament to a playoff. Frazar eventually claimed the title with a par at the third extra hole, entering the PGA Tour winner’s circle for the first time in 355 starts. A host of Titleist golf ball loyalists joined Frazar in topping leaderboards this weekend, as the #1 Ball in Golf continued its winning tradition across worldwide professional tours.

Both Frazar and Karlsson trusted a host of Titleist equipment in Memphis, with Frazar’s winning equipment including the Pro V1x golf ball, 910D2 driver, CB and MB irons and Vokey Design wedges. Karlsson trusted Titleist equipment throughout his bag as he attempted to secure the title that also eluded him in a play-off 12 months ago; Pro V1x loyalist Lee Westwood emerging victorious on that occasion. Karlsson’s bag included the Pro V1x golf ball, 910D3 driver, 910F.d and 910F fairway metals, MB irons, Vokey Design wedges and Scotty Cameron putter. The victory saw Frazar top a leaderboard littered with Titleist golf ball loyalists, as Titleist Brand Ambassador Ryuji Imada (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalists Tim Herron (Pro V1x) and Charles Howell III (Pro V1) tied for third alongside two others. Titleist was also the overwhelming choice of the field with 103 players trusting the legendary Pro V1 franchise, compared to 17 players for the nearest competitor. Titleist also topped the counts for iron sets, lob, sand and approach wedges, and putters, respectively.

On the European Tour, Robert Rock (Pro V1x) secured his maiden tour title in his ninth season playing at Europe’s highest level. The Englishman fired a final round 5-under par 67 to win the BMW Italian Open ahead of a top-5 littered with Titleist golf ball loyalists. Gary Boyd (Pro V1x) finished alongside one other in second place, one shot behind Rock, while Pete Whiteford (Pro V1x) and Joost Luiten (Pro V1) ensured four of the top five positions were filled by players who put their trust in Titleist golf balls. Titleist was also the choice of the majority of the field, with 108 players, more than six times the nearest competitor with 16.

Elsewhere, on the Champions Tour, Mark Wiebe (Pro V1) won an all Titleist golf ball play-off, defeating James Mason (Pro V1x) at the third extra hole to win the Greater Hickory Classic. On the LPGA Tour, Yani Tseng (Pro V1x) posted a 21-under par total to beat fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Christie Kerr (Pro V1) into second place and claim the LPGA State Farm Classic. On the Nationwide Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Kyle Thompson (Pro V1x) won his third Nationwide Tour title at The Rex Hospital Open with a 14-under par total. On the South African Tour, Chris Swanepoel (Pro V1x) topped an all-Titleist golf ball top-6, winning the Vodacom Origins of Golf by three shots. On the Canadian Tour, Roger Sloan (Pro V1x) won his maiden tour title at the Western Championship, with a three stroke victory. These victories boost Titleist’s 2011 worldwide win count to 73, more than six times the nearest competitor with 11, and more than all other brands combined.

A first PGA Tour victory for Titleist Brand Ambassador Harrison Frazar, coupled with a host of victories around the world for Titleist golf ball loyalists, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
