WILSON COMPLETES SUPER MONDAY FOR TITLEIST AT PHOENIX OPEN

Titleist golf ball loyalist Mark Wilson claimed the Waste Management Phoenix Open in a dramatic Monday finish, coming through an all-Titleist Pro V1 play-off against Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Dufner (Pro V1). Trusting the feel and control of the legendary Pro V1 and Pro V1x, both Wilson and Dufner fired four consecutive rounds in the 60’s to tie on 18-under par after 72 holes. Wilson’s birdie at the second extra hole was enough to see him claim his fourth career PGA Tour title, and second in three starts following another dramatic victory at the Sony Open in January.

Wilson’s victory marks the fourth tournament in the opening five on the PGA Tour which has seen a Titleist golf ball loyalist enter the winners circle, following Wilson’s two victories, Bubba Watson’s (Pro V1x) win at the Farmer’s Insurance Open and Jonathan Byrd (Pro V1x) claiming the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. As well as being the choice of the champion in Arizona, Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice, with 91 players putting their trust in the precision of the Pro V1 franchise, more than eight times the nearest competitor with eleven. The majority of the top finishers also trusted Titleist for their success, with eight of the top twelve players who finished among the top-10 and ties teeing up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

As well as the legendary Pro V1 franchise being the choice of the field on the PGA Tour, the playability and control of Titleist’s golf club range was also underlined as it topped the counts for iron sets, sand, lob and approach wedges and putters respectively. Two players who trusted Titleist equipment from tee to green, brand ambassadors Jarrod Lyle and Brendan Steele, sent spectators wild in Arizona, scoring holes-in-one within hours of each other on Saturday. Lyle aced the famed 16th hole, making his Pro V1x golf ball disappear from 150 yards with his Titleist MB 8-iron, while Steele secured his hole-in-one on the 174-yard 12th, relying upon a Pro V1x golf ball and Titleist MB 7-iron.

A fourth PGA Tour career victory, and second of the 2011 season, for Pro V1x loyalist Mark Wilson furthers Titleist’s winning start around the world and continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
